Sandy Lake Academy’s Dormitory

Facility

Our dormitory was built to respond to the increasing need of housing for students desiring a Christian education who live outside the local Halifax area. It offers the opportunity for pupils to create a home away from home. Since it opened in 1988, we have housed students from all over the Maritimes, Canada, USA, and outside North America.

The dormitory can accommodate 20 boarders–16 young ladies and 4 young men who are in Grades 9-12. Pupils come from a variety of regions and backgrounds. Male and female students live on separate sides of the facility. Each side is equipped with a large washroom and a clothes washer and dryer. The dorm parents live in their own apartment within the dormitory. They provide meals for the dormitory students and also ensure the students’ overall wellbeing.
